I Tried At-Home Microneedling – Here’s My Experience

Swiss Clinic Derma Roller Microneedling

Swiss Clinic Derma Roller Microneedling

Swiss Clinic Derma Roller MicroneedlingI first heard about at-home microneedling about one year ago and was really intrigued ever since. I wanted a treatment that would plump my skin, soften pores and fine lines. Few weeks ago, I received Swiss Clinic 0.2mm Derma Roller as well as a bottle of Sanitising spray. Since it was my first microneedling experience, I decided to start off using 0.2mm roller.

What is microneedling?

Skin Roller has numerous micro-needles made of surgical steel and is available in a various of sizes to tackle different skin problems. It can be used at home or in dermatologist office in order to help to prevent wrinkles, minimise fine lines and pores, treat acne, spots and small scars, fade pigmentation.

How does it work?

The needles harm the skin creating small micro-channels in the skin to generate collagen and stimulate new skin cells. This contributes to smoother and healthier skin and allows the skin to absorb up to 300% more of your selected skin care product.Swiss Clinic Derma Roller Microneedling

When to use it?

I use my Derma roller 3-5 times a week to see results. It is important not to use a derma roller too often and let your skin rest in order to heal. You might experience tingling or redness, therefore it is best to use it at night.

How to use it?

In the evening, after I cleanse my face, I spray the sterilising solution to clean my derma roller. I then start moving derma roller on my face, from one part to another. I can definitely sense the small needles, but it doesn’t hurt. However, I believe that 0.5mm derma roller is harsher and more painful. I then apply my serum  for collagen stimulation and to speed up the skin cell rate of replacement. You can use derma roller to treat all parts of the body such as face, neck, cellulite, back, hands or stretch marks. The next morning I apply a cream with SPF.

My Experience

My skin looks healthier, smoother and glowing.  Microneedling definitely helped with absorption of my skincare. In addition, I love a small size of the derma roller (0.2mm) as it is pain-free. I can definitely feel it working as my skin looks and feels great. For the best results, use it with Vitamin C or Hyaluronic serum. I will continue to use 0.2mm, however I am already thinking of getting a 0.5mm Derma Roller!

I’ve heard of people who have tried this and achieved good results. But I agree with you- the 0.5 mm sounds like it could be painful. Better to stick with the 0.2 mm option.

Agree! Better to stick to a safer option at first 🙂

I’ve been dying to try this! Too nervous to try on my own, but maybe after I’ve had it done by a dermatologist a couple times..

I was a little bit nervous too, but actually love it, because it is pain-free!

Ah, this sounds so interesting, but any kind of needle gives me the creeps. Maybe I can pretend it’s just a massage device, haha.

It is actually not that scary at all! I pretend that is a massage tool too ha ha x

I’m glad you had a good experience using this! I have one, but haven’t used it consistently, so I haven’t noticed any difference in my skin’s appearance.

I try to use it few times a week. I think consistency is important if you want to see some visible results! 🙂

I’ve got the .5 and 1.0 sizes. I only use them once per month. They do help!

I’m planning on getting 0.5mm! What about 0.5mm and 1.0mm, are they painful?
