Removing my make up at the end of the day is the most important step in my skin care routine, and is a first thing I do when I get home. To find a right cleanser can be difficult, especially if you have a sensitive or problematic skin. For many years I have been using micellar water to take my make up off. Until now. Thankfully, I was introduced to a Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm, which is number 1 cleanser in the UK. Its definitely not new to a market, but it is new to me. This was a first cleansing balm I have ever used, and there is no way of going back.
It retails for £23.00 (125 ml) in UK. While it is more expensive than other cleansers on the market, it lasts for very long time, and you only need the smallest amount for a whole face and neck. Moreover, this cleansing balm is suitable for all skin types. Product is 100% fragrance free, meaning it won’t irritate your skin or eyes, and would suit sensitive skin too.
According to Clinique’s website, you suppose to use your fingers to massage balm over dry skin, and then rinse off with warm water. After applying and massaging balm into my skin, I then soak my Body Shop Facial Flannel in a warm water and gently wipe balm off. Face flannel works really well and adds an extra comfort to my skin. The product is extremely lightweight. As soon as I massage balm into my skin, it transforms from a balm consistency to oil. No rubbing, or pulling your mascara, or any heavy make up is necessary. A balm is gentle, and effective at the same time. Once it melts into your skin, it takes the heaviest make up off, leaving skin brighter and smoother. Product cleans thoroughly and rinses off completely. It such a quick and easy process. Although other make up removers leaves my skin feeling dry, this cleansing balm makes it feel hydrated.
-Unlike the majority of cleansing balms, this product is 100% fragrance free, and doesn’t irritate my skin.
-Breaks down stubborn and waterproof make up easily and quickly.
-Non- greasy. Non-drying.Suitable for all skin types.
-Lightweight and hydrating.
-Tested on animals.
-Cost. You can find similar cleansing balms on the market, for lower price. It is very much alike Body Shop’s Camomile cleansing balm.
It contains Seed oil, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate, Polyethylene, PEG-5 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Water, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol.
Body Shop Face Flannel
I must introduce you to my Body Shop Face Flannel, as mentioned above. It is one of the best thing I have ever discovered. This silky-soft cloth is the gentlest way to wash your face and remove your make-up. It is also much more practical than cotton or wool face clothes. It is made from a neoprene/latex sort of material, it is stretchy and feels like silk. When it’s dry it’s rock hard and very stiff. It dries incredibly fast and is also anti-bacterial (prevents the bacteria from building up). Before use, I run flannel under the warm water, till it gets softer, and then I gently wipe my make up off. It removes my make up in seconds. After use, I just wash it with water and I tend to leave it on the towel rack in the bathroom to dry until the next use.
