Once the weather conditions change, our skincare routine should too. In the summertime I can get away with basic skincare routine, however, in fall I need to develop a more advanced one. Indoor heating, hot showers and cold weather steals the moisture away from the skin, leaving it feeling dry and patchy. Today I would like to share my 6 Step skincare routine for fall and my favorite products to keep skin hydrated.
Step 1 Cleanser
For my cleanse I like to use something quick, effective and non-irritating. I love my Clinique Take The Day Off, which is number 1 cleanser in the UK (full review on this product here). It is a super gentle, breaks my makeup off quickly and easily as well as leaves my skin looking brighter, smoother after I use it. I love this cleanser as it is fragrance-free and suitable for sensitive skin. And lastly, this product doesn’t dry my skin out which makes it perfect for my skincare routine for fall.
Step 2 Exfoliate
Once or twice a week, after cleansing, I exfoliate to remove dead skin cells away and give a deeper cleanse to my skin. At the moment I use Clarins Exfoliating Cream with Microbeads. Many people have noticed how great my skin looks after using this product. My skin feels and looks clean, smooth and healthy.
Step 3 Moisturise
In the morning and night, I use Clinique’s Moisture Surge Intense Skin Hydrator, which is great cream-gel moisturiser. I love starting my morning with this product as it soaks in very quickly, instantly plumps my skin and repair skin’s moisture barrier leaving my skin well moisturized for the rest of a day. This product is great for sensitive skin as well as dehydrated, and is fragrance and oil free. High-quality moisturiser helps to improve the way my skin looks and feels. On the days, when my skin needs something more intense, I like to use Elizabeth’s Arden 8 Hour Cream, which is also a skin protectant. It works wonders to moisturise pretty much any part of your body. I tend to use it for my lips, dry hands, elbows, face, is amazing!
Step 5 Serums and Oils
My favourite part of a skincare routine for fall. Oils and serums are my life savers in winter. I love trying out different serums and sleeping oils! At the moment I am using Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, also known as a ”Facelift in a bottle”. This is an amazing product, which not only improves the look of my skin, but also enhances the quality of sleep, thanks to the smell of lavender. After using this product for a few weeks, I have noticed a visible difference in the appearance of my skin and texture. I apply few drops to my face every night, before I go to bed. My skin feels so smooth and moisturised the next morning. At days when I want a slightly lighter product I reach for Collective Sleeping Oil with Vitamin C and collagen. I love the calming smell of it, and how quickly absorbs to skin. After using it, I can see an improvement in colour and texture of my skin.
Step – 6 Mask
I aim to use mask once a week or when my skin needs it. I choose it depending on my skin condition at that time, as I like to experiment with different masks. At the moment, I am still loving Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow mask, which is 100% vegan, free from parabens, paraffin, silicone and mineral oils. It contains bamboo charcoal, which helps to draw out impurities and excess oil from the skin. Green tea leaves help to exfoliate the skin as well as organic tea tree oil helps to clear the skin. I love this mask, because I could see a significant improvement in my skin after the first use.
