Too Faced Hangover 3-1 Primer and Setting Spray Review

too faced setting spray review

Too Faced Hangover 3-In-1 Primer and Setting Spray was released in early June and I have been dreaming about it ever since. Last week I did not feel well, and my kind boyfriend got this Too Faced Hangover Spray to cheer me up. Needless to say, I was happy and straight away felt little healthier! I have mentioned in my previous blog posts the fact that I love multi-purpose products and that was one of the main reason, why I wanted to try this product out. Besides its super cute packaging, of course.

Product & Application

Too Faced Hangover 3-In-1 Replenishing Primer & Setting Spray is a weightless 3-in-1 coconut water-infused mist that primes, sets and refreshes makeup while it helps keep skin hydrated. Product retails for £27 in the UK. It is alcohol, silicon and oil free. It contains coconut water as well as probiotic-based ingredient. Too Faced states that the product hydrates, brightens as well as soothe and smooths the skin and promotes it’s elasticity and tone.

Shake it well before use. Spray 6-8 inches away from face. Since it is a multi-purpose product you can prime, set and refresh your skin.Product comes out evenly and it covers the whole face, therefore I only tend to spray it 2-3 times.

Pros & Cons

The product has a lovely coconut smell to it, if you are not a fan of coconut, maybe this is something you should bare in mind prior purchasing. Me, on another hand, love the smell, and how hydrating it is. My skin gets really dry during the colder months and this setting spray indeed helps to keep it hydrated. Also, I heard people with oily skin saying good things about the spray too, as it helps to control the oils throughout the day. I do like Too Faced Hangover spray because of how hydrating it is, as well as it makes my skin looking glowy and smooth. It works great as a refreshing spray or touch up during the day too.

When I first got the product I have tried to use it as a primer and setting spray. Unfortunately, when used as a primer it leaves a skin feeling tacky, which I’m not a fan of. Probably, it suppose to help the products stick on the face better. The tacky feeling does away after the few minutes, but I didnt end up using it as a primer.  In terms of product’s durability, I find my make up last longer than normal and doesn’t make make skin oilier (when used as a setting spray). However, it works same well as other cheaper setting sprays on the market – Mac, Urban Decay etc.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I think this Too Faced 3-in-1 Hangover Primer and Setting Spray has both- pluses and minuses. I do like the ingredients of the product, and the fact that its alcohol, oil and silicon free. I like the smell and how it feels on my skin, how hydrating it is. On the other hand, I don’t use it as a primer as it feels tacky, therefore I only tend to use it as a setting spray. Product doesn’t really seem to do anything different than a regular setting spray. I enjoyed trying it out, but most likely I won’t be buying it again. Have you tried this Too Faced product out?

Thanks for the heads up! I was just browsing their section at Sephora yesterday but decided against their foundation.
